This new range comes with two other groupsets, 2x10 speed and 2x11 speed, which will progressively replace the X7 and X9 ranges, which are not so young anymore.

When we launched our road technology from scratch, we applied our mountain bike-proven 1:1 activation ratio SRAM (shifter cable travel: derailleur movement) for a 10-speed rear shift. EA helps to simplify/stabilize the complex action of balancing the rear derailleur hanger design, the limited space for the sprocket and the perfect cable tension. The result is the easiest shifting system to set up, and it stays that way. Imagine being able to shift smoothly at any time, under any conditions. We're talking full power shifting. Up, down, whatever the trail demands. The advantage of the X-Glide drivetrain is simple, when you think about it, with incredible benefits to the way you pedal. Flawless shifting so you don't have to make the trade-off of speed and power when you're off-roading.
