When we launched our road technology from scratch, we reapplied our mountain bike proven SRAM 1:1 actuation ratio (shift cable movement: derailleur movement) to a 10-speed rear gear. EA helps simplify/stabilize the delicate act of balancing the rear derailleur hanger design, tight spacing of the sprockets and exact cable tension. Here's how we did it: the TRUVATIV crank engineers abandoned the old standards and developed a new chainring geometry from scratch. They precisely matched different sized chainrings and rethought where and how the chain engages with the rings. By aligning the chainring pickup rivets with the chain pivot pin rather than the middle of the chain link, you double the shiftability.
