Optimize your cycling experience with the Speedbox 3.3 chip, the essential speed limiter for your Giant electric bike.
Reliable third-generation tuning chip for Giant electric bikes with SyncDrive motors (from 2022) and RideControl units
The chip SpeedBox 3.3 disables the bike’s speed limit. After installing the chip, you will be able to view actual values such as maximum speed, average speed, daily mileage, and range.
How does SpeedBox 3.3 work for Giant?
Activating/deactivating the tuning should always be done before you set off on your bike, not during the ride!
To activate the chip SpeedBox, briefly activate the WALK function on the electric bike's control unit. The screen of the electric bike will briefly display 5.0 km/h (3.1 mph) and from that moment, you will be able to ride at a speed of 50 km/h. You can change the default speed limit to any limit (up to 99 km/h), but to minimize the risk of error codes, we recommend not exceeding 50 km/h.
To deactivate the chip function, reactivate the WALK function. The screen will show 2.5 km/h (1.6 mph) and the speed limit of 25 km/h will be activated again. The electric bike will function as it did before the chip was installed.
We are also ready for electric bikes that do not have a standard control panel with a Walk button. In this case, just use the button combination - + - + and SpeedBox will be activated. In the same way, it can be deactivated.
To set the maximum speed, you can switch between the following modes: Turbo - EMTB - Tour - Eco - Tour - EMTB - Turbo. Then the current speed limit will be displayed. To change the maximum speed, briefly press the WALK button or rotate the dial 360 °. An on-screen display of 1.5 km/h corresponds to a limit of 15 km/h, 2.0 corresponds to a limit of 20 km/h, 2.5 corresponds to 25 km/h, 3.0 corresponds to 30 km/h, 5.0 corresponds to 50 km/h, etc. The last displayed limit is saved after five seconds of inactivity.
When using the SpeedBox, the electric bike must be turned on after the ride until the screen shows a constant 0.0 km/h. During this phase, the screen will display the remaining time. After that, it is safe to turn off the bike and look forward to the next ride.
Installation
To connect the chip SpeedBox to an electric bike, we use colour-coded connectors with a key for proper connection, making the chip really easy to install. You can download the instructions or watch videos that will guide you through installing SpeedBox. Removing the chip is just as easy as installing it. If you have any connection issues, feel free to contact us.
If you want SpeedBox on a new bike, you must first ride at least 10 kilometres with the bike.
