Unleash the power of your rides with the tuning chip Speedbox 1.4, for unmatched performance on your electric bike.
Tuning chip for electric bikes with Bosch Performance Line SX motors (4th generation) with Smart System + Rim Magnet
SpeedBox 1.4 allows you to deactivate the speed limiter of the electric bike. If you want to monitor the correct speed and all ride data during your journey, we recommend purchasing SpeedBox 1.4 B. Tuning for Bosch - You can control the actual ride values in our SpeedBox App - directly on your phone’s screen.
How does SpeedBox 1.4 for Bosch work?
To correctly activate all functions of SpeedBox, it is necessary, after turning on the electric bike with the installed SpeedBox, to enter the menu and access the wheel circumference value if you have older firmware on your electric bike.
Activating/deactivating the tuning must always be done before getting on the bike, not during the ride!
To activate the SpeedBox 1.4 chip, briefly activate the WALK function on the electric bike’s control unit (hold the “ - ” button). The electric bike screen will briefly display 3.5 km/h (2.2 mph) and from that moment, you can ride at a speed of 35 km/h. You can change the default speed limit to any limit (up to 99 km/h), but to minimize the risk of error codes, we recommend not exceeding 35 km/h.
To deactivate the chip function, reactivate the WALK function (hold the “ - ” button). The display will show 2.5 km/h (1.6 mph) and the speed limit of 25 km/h will be reset. The electric bike will operate as it did before installing the chip.
We have also considered electric bikes that do not have an available or active WALK function. In this case, you can activate or deactivate the tuning by toggling twice between two modes, that is, by pressing the “ - + - + ” buttons.
The maximum assistance speed can be changed again by switching modes from TURBO down three levels and then up three levels: eMTB - TOUR+ - ECO - TOUR+ - eMTB - TURBO. You will then see the current speed limit. To change the maximum speed, briefly press the WALK function or rotate the wheel 360°. The screen at 2.5 km/h corresponds to the limit of 25 km/h, 2.5 corresponds to 25 km/h, 3.5 corresponds to 35 km/h, etc. The last displayed limit is stored after 15 seconds of inactivity.
When using SpeedBox, the electric bike must be turned on after the end of the ride until the screen displays a constant 0.0 km/h. During this phase, the screen will show the remaining time. After that, the bike can be safely turned off, and you can look forward to the next ride.

To connect the SpeedBox chip to an electric bike, we use colour-coded connectors equipped with a key for proper connection, so the chip is really easy to install.
