How does SpeedBox 1.3 for Bosch work?
To properly activate all functions of SpeedBox, it is necessary, after turning on the electric bike with the SpeedBox installed, to enter the menu and access the wheel circumference value if your electric bike has older firmware.

The tuning activation/deactivation must always be done before riding, not during the trip!

To activate the SpeedBox 1.3 chip, briefly activate the WALK function on the electric bike's control unit (hold down the "-" button). The electric bike’s display will briefly show 3.5 km/h (2.2 mph) and from this moment, you can ride at a speed of 35 km/h. You can change the default speed limit to any limit (up to 99 km/h), but to minimize the risk of error codes, we recommend not exceeding 35 km/h.

To deactivate the chip function, reactivate the WALK function (hold down the "-" button). The display will show 2.5 km/h (1.6 mph) and the speed limit of 25 km/h will be reactivated. The electric bike will operate as it did before the installation of the chip.

We have also considered electric bikes that do not have a WALK function available or active. In this case, you can activate or deactivate the tuning by switching between two modes twice, that is, by pressing the buttons "- + - +".

The maximum assistance speed can be changed again by switching the modes from TURBO down three levels and then up three levels: eMTB - TOUR+ - ECO - TOUR+ - eMTB - TURBO. Then the current speed limit will be displayed. To change the maximum speed, briefly press the WALK function or spin the wheel 360°. The display of 2.5 km/h corresponds to the limit of 25 km/h, 2.5 corresponds to 25 km/h, 3.5 corresponds to 35 km/h, etc. The last displayed limit is saved after 15 seconds of inactivity.

When using the SpeedBox, the electric bike must be turned on after the trip until the display shows a constant of 0.0 km/h. During this phase, the display will show the remaining time. Then, you can safely turn off the bike and look forward to the next ride.

Installation
To connect the SpeedBox chip to an electric bike, we use colour-coded connectors equipped with a key for proper connection, so the chip is really easy to install. You can download the instructions or watch videos that will guide you in installing SpeedBox. Removing the chip is as simple as installing it. If you want SpeedBox on a new bike, you must first ride at least 10 km with the bike.
Important
Connect the male-female connectors in the locking direction. Do not twist the connectors when connecting!
