In addition to the Di2 electronic components for the M8000 groupset, Shimano also introduces trekking-specific components for the Deore XT. Under the product designation T8000, touring cyclists have access to the most advanced and modern trekking-specific components ever developed by Shimano. The range of applications for the Deore XT now extends from the XC Race segment to comfortable touring and trekking bikes.
The Rapidfire Plus shifters with their clearly legible optical gear indicator make it easy to shift from one gear to the next. They are also technically superior thanks to the Multi-Release, Instand-Release and 2-Way-Release functions.

The
2-Way-Release
allows you to release the cable by pressing with your thumb or pulling with your index finger. This way, you don't have to adapt your riding style to the shifter, the shifter adapts to your riding style.
Multi-version
allows two gear jumps. This means that you can shift several gears in both directions with the main lever or the secondary lever (only for the 10-speed gearshift).
Instant release
allows for faster gear changes. The cable is immediately released when the lever is operated. You can change gears faster than before.
