The new rotor qx1 chainring for Shimano XT with BCD96 has a 12.5% oval. The wide and narrow interleaved teeth prevent the chain from jumping in the most adverse conditions even without a derailleur. The oval q-ring chainrings help to optimize your performance by modifying the pedaling resistance according to the natural strength and weakness of the legs. They allow better use of the strongest muscle groups (increasing positive work) and compensate for the weakest areas of pedaling (reducing negative force).
