The MET Trenta 3K Carbon MIPS is a road helmet made for performance and for theElite cyclists. Winner of the Tour de France and the monumental Liège-Bastogne-Liège, it's designed to keep your head cool and save energy with every pedal stroke. The MET Trenta 3K Carbon MIPS is the most advanced road helmet we've ever created.
No compromise is made on performance and we've incorporated the lightest and most advanced system for managing rotational forces: MIPS AIR®, integrated into the foams. MIPS AIR® was specifically developed and designed to be the lightest possible system that reduces the harmful rotational energies transferred to the head durant from specific angular impacts. MIPS AIR® is integrated into the Trenta 3K Carbon's foams and allows for 10-15mm of relative movement between the energy absorbing layer and the foam.
The construction of MET Trenta 3K Carbon MIPS outperforms all autres helmets on the market. Our team R&D team has taken advantage of the elastic moduli of carbon, which allows us to reduce the density of the EPS foam by 20%, without affecting the helmet's ability to absorb energy. The result is a better performing shell that sets a new standard in ventilated helmet design.
Originally developed by NACA, the forerunner of NASA, the position of this vent on the top of the helmet allows for optimal ventilation. Using the power of the Venturi effect, the wind pushes the hot air in the helmet out of the specially designed exhaust ports. This ensures a constant flow of air into the helmet, without creating turbulence or drag.
The tail of the helmet also has aerodynamic properties. It works in synergy with the NACA vent and the rear baffles to effectively conduct the airflow. It has a lowered profile at the rear, which we developed with a specific test in the wind tunnel of the laboratory NEWTON in Milan.
