Description
Nearly fifty years ago, Tom Ritchey, his mentor Jobst Brandt, and a group of like-minded friends spent countless adventurous hours riding the remote trails, broken asphalt, and rough gravel roads that wind through the mountains in and around Northern California's Butano State Park. Tom still rides these trails and roads today, and this topography and the pioneering rides that took place there are the inspiration for the Butano handlebar. Since its introduction a few years ago, this unique handlebar has been sought after by legions of gravel riders and road cyclists. Its wide flare offers adventurous riders an increased level of control and confidence over traditional handlebars, while its low drop and short reach offer welcome comfort for those endless days spent on rough terrain. Updated for 2021, the new Butano capitalizes on its comfort fromorigine by adding new features such as internal cable routing capability and a welcoming ergo-aero top section for better hand support. Butano's handlebar flare has also been widened, with an 18° angle, for more comfort and control. The new Butano handlebar was born from Tom's legendary adventures in the remote mountains of California, and offers the features you need for your own endless explorations and relentless travels.
