How does SpeedBox 1.6 for Bosch work?
To properly activate all functions of SpeedBox, after turning on the electric bike with the SpeedBox installed, you need to enter the menu and access the wheel circumference value if your electric bike has older firmware.

Activating/deactivating the tuning should always be done before pedalling, not during the ride!

To activate the SpeedBox 1.6 chip, briefly activate the WALK function on the electric bike's control unit (hold the "-" button). The electric bike's screen will briefly display 3.5 km/h (2.2 mph) and from that moment, you will be able to ride at a speed of 35 km/h. You can change the default speed limit to any limit (up to 99 km/h), but to minimise the risk of error codes, we recommend not exceeding 35 km/h.

To deactivate the chip function, reactivate the WALK function (hold the "-" button). The screen will display 2.5 km/h (1.6 mph) and the speed limit of 25 km/h will be reactivated. The electric bike will operate as it did before the chip was installed.

We have also thought about electric bikes that do not have a WALK function available or active. In this case, you can activate or deactivate the tuning by switching twice between two modes, meaning pressing the buttons "- + - +".

The maximum assistance speed can be changed again by going down three levels from the TURBO mode and then back up three levels: eMTB - TOUR+ - ECO - TOUR+ - eMTB - TURBO. The current speed limit will then be displayed. To change the maximum speed, briefly press the WALK function or turn the wheel 360°. The 2.5 km/h screen corresponds to the limit of 25 km/h, 2.5 corresponds to 25 km/h, 3.5 corresponds to 35 km/h, etc. The last displayed limit is saved after 15 seconds of inactivity.

When the SpeedBox is used, the electric bike must be turned on after the end of the trip until the screen displays a constant 0.0 km/h. During this phase, the screen will display the remaining time. Then, you can safely turn off the bike and look forward to the next ride.
Installation
To connect the SpeedBox chip to an electric bike, we use colour-coded connectors with a key for proper connection, so the chip is really easy to install. You can download the instructions or watch videos that will guide you through installing SpeedBox. Removing the chip is as easy as installing it. If you want SpeedBox on a new bike, you first need to ride at least 10 km on the bike.
Important
Connect the male - female connectors in the lock direction. Do not twist the connectors during connection!
